Stauffer Library

There is nothing else for you to do than work since everyone around you is also working

The most common place I study is Stauffer library. I usually go to the library alone in the morning or at night since I can set my time constraints and not worry about leaving with a friend. There is free Wi-Fi provided in the library, but only for those who have a QueensU NetID. The library is in a prime location in the core of Queen's Campus. It is the main library on campus and seems to be many students' "go-to" place to study, as when I go, it is always jam-packed with almost no empty spaces to work. Although the library has four floors, it is constantly heavily populated but still a quiet place to work.

ATMOSPHERE

The library's interior is very majestic, with powerful, orangish-brownish wooden panels that accent the building's main design nicely. When I enter the building, it feels like this library is from a movie. There is a library café that sells all essentials to fuel my studies, including coffee, soups, and to-go sandwiches and salads. As I pass the café, I get a sense of stillness when I see everyone else quietly doing work. For me, this is the perfect mood setter to study or do schoolwork, as seeing everyone around me working helps me stay focused on myself.

OVERALL RANKING: 8.5/10

Unfortunately, I get distracted easily, so I do most of my schoolwork outside my house. My philosophy at the library is, "There is nothing else for you to do than work since everyone around you is also working." Whereas doing work at my house, this is not the case. Overall, I choose Stauffer Library as my ideal place of study because of its convenience and ambiance.
